This Privacy Policy explains how QrMyCar collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our QR-based vehicle identification platform.

QrMyCar operates in two models:

• Individual vehicle owner model
• Housing society model

1. Individual Vehicle Owner Model

In this model, individual vehicle owners purchase a QR sticker and register directly on QrMyCar.

Information Collected

• Name
• Email address (Google login)
• WhatsApp phone number (if enabled)
• Vehicle number
• Vehicle make, model, year
• IP address and device information

How It Works

When someone scans an individual QR sticker:

• No personal details are shown to the scanner.
• Vehicle number is masked.
• Phone number is never revealed.
• The scanner can send a message anonymously.

The vehicle owner receives a notification via WhatsApp or Email only if they have explicitly enabled that setting within their account.

Consent for Notifications

WhatsApp and Email alerts are sent only after the user opts in through explicit in-app consent. Users can disable these settings at any time.

2. Housing Society Model

In this model, residential societies purchase QR stickers and upload resident and vehicle data.

For society-uploaded data:

• The society acts as the data controller.
• QrMyCar acts as a data processor providing technical infrastructure.
• The society is responsible for obtaining resident consent.

Resident information is visible only to authenticated and verified members of the same society. It is not accessible to the general public.

3. Technical & Analytics Data

We collect limited technical data including:

• IP address
• Device type
• Browser type
• QR scan logs

This data is used to improve performance, prevent spam, detect misuse, and enhance security.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

Data may be shared only:

• With the respective society (for society accounts)
• With trusted service providers supporting hosting or messaging
• If required by law

5. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical safeguards to protect data from unauthorized access or misuse.

6. Data Retention

Individual account data is retained while the account remains active. Society data is retained while the society maintains an active subscription.

7. User Rights

Individual users may update or delete their data from their account settings.

Society residents must contact their respective society administration for correction or deletion requests.
